HOUSE WORKERS TO BE REGISTERED

CHANDIGARH : All domestic workers in the state will be registered with the State Social Security Board and they will be extended the benefits under various welfare schemes. The decision was taken in the maiden meeting of the board for unorganised workers held under labour minister Balbir Singh Sidhu. After registration with the board, such workers will be provided a unique identity card which will be linked to their Aadhaar numbers. Principal secretary, labour, Sanjay Kumar said that any worker who has completed 14 years of age would be eligible for registration.
