Apropos ‘In Delhi, a crisis of governance (HT Comment, June 14)’, both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are responsible for the showdown on full public glare in the national capital. It appears that instead of putting their heads together to tackle problems before Delhi residents, these parties have decided to denigrate each other, in a misguided assumption that this will help them in 2019 general elections. As the ruling party at the Centre, the BJP should have shown restraint.
Tarsem Singh, Mahilpur and LG should coordinate with the Delhi government to get work back on track in Delhi. After all, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is only demanding action against IAS officers who have struck work for four months. We need a mature, cool head to tackle the crisis.
M Lal Garg, Chandigarh arrangement is bound to fail due to the contrast in the work culture of private and public sector. Professionals of note need to be appointed as advisers to the government.
