Man kills friend over monetary dispute

BATHINDA: A man allegedly killed his friend by stabbing him with a broken liquor bottle following a spat at Mall Road on Sunday evening. Deceased has been identified as Pawan Kumar, alias Jony, 35, of Paras Ram Nagar. Station house officer, Kotwali police station, Davinder Singh said deceased and accused Atul Kumar were good friends and were having liquor with their groups separately when they entered into an argument over money. The accused broke a liquor bottle and stabbed the victim. He died on way to a hospital. The accused has been arrested.
