Man stabbed to death for resisting robbery

ROHTAK: A 40-year-old man was killed and four others were injured after they tried to resist a robbery attempt at their house in Chinyot Colony in the city.

The incident occurred on the intervenin­g night of Sunday and Monday, the police said.

The deceased has been identified as Keshav Kumar, a labourer hailing from Uttar Pradesh, who was living here along with other labourers at a rented accommodat­ion. He worked at a private factory.

The police said a thief entered their house late night but was caught by him and four other residents. However, the criminal had a knife with which he attacked all the members and fled the house after inflicting injuries on them.

The neighbors rushed the injured to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences where Keshav succumbed to injuries. Police said they have registered a case and efforts were to nab the culprit.
