-

AMRITSAR : MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla, in continuation to his train inspections, did a surprise check of the Amritsar-nagpur express, Amritsar-new Delhi Shatabdi, Amritsar-pathankot passenger, Amritsar-nanded express and Amritsar-haridwar Jan Shatabdi on Monday, and found the on-duty deputy station master, Rajesh Sharma, asleep in the office of station master.

Aujla arrived at the station at 3.30 in the morning to check the improvements since his last visit. He said that he had warned the officials and companies handling the cleaning process to mend their ways but no improvement was found.

“When premiere trains like Shatabdi and Sachkhand are in such a mess with stinky toilets and dirty rakes, one can’t even imagine the plight of local passenger trains,” said Aujla.

He said toilets in all passenger trains were found blocked due to lack of cleaning and water filling, which that the concerned contractor doesn’t pay any heed to his job.
