The assault came to light when health of the girl, a student of Class 3, deteriorated ‘due to injuries to her private parts’ and her family members took her to a nearby hospital.

Hansi women police station house officer (SHO) Kamlesh Devi said, “As per the complaint, the victim had gone to washroom in her school when the teacher identified as Satyawaan barged in and brutalised the girl on Friday.”

It has also been alleged that the schoolteacher had threatened the victim of dire consequences if she revealed the incident to her family.

“The medical examination of the girl confirmed rape on the

basis of which the accused was arrested under Section 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual offence) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act,” the Hansi women SHO added.

VILLAGERS LOCK GATE OF SCHOOL

Agitated over the incident, villagers on Monday locked the government school’s main gate demanding strict action against the accused schoolteacher. They also demanded to shift the male staff of the school.

Hansi deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Narender Kadian along with block education officer Baljeet Sehrawat soon reached the spot with police force and pacified the villagers.

Kadian and Sehrawat assured the agitators that male staff of the school will be shifted after consulting the administration.

Sehrawat told villagers that the schoolteacher has already been suspended.
