HARVEST THE TALENT POOL

The Croatian football team has proved that small countries do not lack in talent. If rightly invested in, the talent of their sportspersons can flourish. India too has no dearth of talent, but lack of social security does not let people take up sports as a career. People opt for sports only as a hobby. The government should invest more in sports other than cricket so that India too can make its mark on the global sports platform. Niranjan Walia,

The role of parents becomes critical in such a situation as they generally give their kids mobile phones so that they demand less of their time. The government should regulate the content being freely circulated on the internet.

Stringent action should be taken against the civic department officials for not being prepared before onset of monsoon. It should be seen that drainage system remains functional even during heavy rain. The civic authorities clean and upgrade the roads within no time during VIP visits to the city. Then why can’t they show same competence during the rainy season?
