Rejection of resignation: Mann, Arora still to hear from leadership

- HT Correspondent

CHANDIGARH:A day after the Aam Aadmi Party’s state unit rejected their resignation from the posts of state president and co-president, Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann and Sunam MLA Aman Arora said they had not heard anything from the party’s central leadership on the issue so far.

Mann, who was back home after being discharged from a Delhi hospital on Sunday, said he was neither contacted by anyone nor was there any communication in this regard. “If someone talks to me, I will apply my mind and meet the state unit leaders to find out on what grounds they have rejected my resignation,” he told HT.

Arora also said he had tendered his resignation and was not hankering after any post. “No one has talked to me. The question that if my resignation is rejected whether or not I am willing to take the post again is hypothetical,” he said.

Mann and Arora had quit their posts in March 2018 in protest against the “unconditional” apology tendered by AAP national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to Akali leader Bikram Majithia to settle a defamation case.
