NEWDELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not given up on the people of Kashmir, even though it has pulled out of the coalitiongovernmentin Jammuand Kashmir, party general secretary Ram Madhav said on Tuesday. The party has also, not given up on its demand for the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, he said.

Speaking at the launch of ‘RSS A View to the Inside’ a book by Shridhar Damle and Walter Andersen, Madhav said: “We have left the government in Kashmir, we have not left Kashmir.” His comment came in response to a question on how the BJP and the RSS had reconciled to putting contentious issues such as the abrogation of Article 370 on the back burner while it ran a coalition government with the PDP.

In June, Madhav, considered the architect of the coalition, announced that the BJP was pulling out of the government with PDP after three years of alliance.
