EX-CM Virbhadra miffed over not being invited

My father knows the length and breadth of the state and has contributed for development of every nook and corner. VIKRAMADITYA SINGH, Shimla rural MLA

SHIMLA:RIFT in the Congress seems to be widen up as party veteran and six-time chief minister Virbhadra Singh is miffed once again over not being invited for the second leg of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and state in-charge Rajni Patil’s tour.

The state Congress in-charge is seeking feedback from leaders and workers to strengthen the party ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. State Congress chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, AICC secretary in-charge for Punjab affairs Asha Kumari and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mukesh Agnihotri accompanied Patil in Chamba.

Virbhadra’s son and Shimla rural legislator Vikramaditya Singh expressed anguish over party leadership’s decision of not inviting his father. “I learnt it from media that workers meet was being organised at Chamba, Hamirpur and Una districts,” said Vikramaditya Singh.

“Himachal Congress committee did not invite Virbhadra Singh ji,” said Vikramaditya, adding that logic given for the same is irrational. Congress spokesman Naresh Chauhan had said only leaders hailing from the particular districts were invited for the workers meet. “Every district is a part of the state and Virbhadra Singh knows the length and breadth of the state. He has contributed towards the development of every nook and corner,” he said.

“His guidance is significant for drawing future strategy,” he said, adding that, “We all should remember that the convention is being organised in wake of the Lok Sabha polls and Virbhadra Singh will play a decisive role in party’s victory.
