CHANDIGARH : A Shiromani Akali Dal-bharatiya Janata Party (SAD-BJP) delegation on Thursday moved a notice of breach of privilege motion to Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker Rana KP Singh and urged him to take prompt action against those responsible for leaking the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission report.

They blamed Ranjit Singh, jails minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rebel leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira for the leak.

They demanded the arrest of Justice Ranjit Singh and Randhawa for fabricating evidence and leaking a top secret document before its tabling in the Vidhan Sabha. The report along with action taken report is expected to be tabled in the monsoon session of assembly starting Friday. Excerpts of the reports were selectively leaked to the media.

In a resolution to the speaker, the two parties also demanded dismissal of the minister for his role in criminal leakage of the report and requested the speaker to impress upon the Vidhan Sabha to approach the Supreme Court to get a sitting judge appointed to probe all cases of sacrilege in Punjab.

The delegation told the speaker that Justice Ranjit Singh is a friend of the CM and brotherin-law of Khaira. The members said Ranjit Singh has in his report attacked the Akal Takth and prepared false statements of witnesses to prove that there was no post of Akal Takht jathedar in the Sikh Gurdwara Act.

Bikram Singh Majithia, Som Parkash, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, NK Sharma, Lakhbir Singh Lodhinangal, Dilraj Singh Bhundar, Baldev Khara, Sukhwinder Sukhi among others were part of the delegation .
