AMRITSAR : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday said the parallel jathedars protesting at Bargari are ISI agents who with the connivance of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rebel leader Sukhpal Khaira and Punjab jails minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa have forged the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission report.

The report on the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib and police firing at Behbal Kalan in Faridkot is likely to be tabled in the upcoming special session of the Vidhan Sabha starting Friday.

Sukhbir, who along with his wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal was in Amritsar to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple, said, “Once we come to power, we will book him (Justice Ranjit) if the incumbent Congress government does not do anything for fabricating the report.”

“His (Ranjit Singh’s) degree is doubtful even as he has been a judge of the high court. The man has fabricated statements and got it signed by the witnesses. He has no right to be called a judge,” he said. One of the witnesses in the report, Himmat Singh, the younger brother of Akal Takht head granthi Gurmukh Singh, has retracted his statement submitted to the commission claiming he had done so under the pressure of the panel head and jail minister Randhawa.

SAYS KHAIRA, RANDHAWA FORGED REPORT ON SACRILEGE CASES IN CONNIVANCE WITH PARALLEL JATHEDARS

He ruled out Justice Ranjit’s claim that Himmat is not the only witness who has deposed against him and his father.

“Khaira’s role in this episode will be exposed in a day or two. The parallel jathedars are continuing with their protest at Bargari as they are being funded by the ISI,” he claimed.

Lashing out at local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu for hugging Pakistan army chief, he dared Sidhu to get cross-border terrorism and killing of Indian soldiers along the Line of Control (LOC) stopped.
