Punjab allows transfer of permission for CLU

MOHALI : In a major decision aimed at providing stimulus to industry, the state government has allowed the transfer of permission for change of land use (CLU) of stand-alone industrial projects and educational institutions.
Chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh has approved an amendment in the earlier notification to this effect. In the case of stand-alone industrial projects and educational institutions, the CLU will be transferred in the name of the new owner, transferee, lessee after transfer of title or a right to the land for not less than 15 years.
With this decision, the new owner/ transferee/ lessee of an industrial project will not be required to apply again for obtaining permission for CLU nor will he be required to pay any transfer fee.
“This step will encourage those industrialists, who are keen to set up industrial units in the state and shall also give them relief as they will not have to undergo the cumbersome process of getting a fresh CLU,” said Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, minister of housing and urban development, while announcing the decision.
There will be no fee for transfer of CLU, however, processing fee of ₹5,000 for first acre and ₹1,000 for subsequent acres will be charged.the transfer will be subject to the condition that the earlier granted CLU is valid and the site confirms to the stipulations of the Master Plan of the area concerned.
