Gurugram man kills father over a property dispute
GURUGRAM: A farmer was allegedly murdered by his elder son, over a property dispute, in Farrukhnagar on Tuesday. The police said the accused had been demanding a share in the fiveacre ancestral land that his father owned and they had frequent fights on the issue.
The police said that around 11am, the accused went to his father’s farm, which is around 2.5 kilometres from their house, and allegedly killed him with a sharpedged weapon.
After the incident, the accused put his body in an SUV, called his younger brother and claimed that their father had been injured in an accident. He allegedly fled after making the phone call.
The deceased has been identified as Amarjeet Yadav, of Taj Nagar in Farrukhnagar, who was in his 50s, the police said.
Rajesh Kumar, the deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Manesar, said the accused, identified as Hari Prakash, was possibly accompanied by another person and they allegedly tried to concoct a false story.
NON-OPERATIONAL FOR PAST FIVE MONTHS
The CCTV cameras were installed in April 2017 and were lying defunct for the past five months, reportedly due to lack of maintenance.
THE REASON
As per the sources, battery back-up and lack of proper maintenance are the core reasons behind the non-operational CCTV cameras.
