Hry govt directs health dept to conduct more raids, suspends SI

CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has directed to suspend Devender, sub inspector (SI) posted at Bas police station of Hisar district, who allegedly did not file challan on time in a case pertaining to violation of medical terminatio­n of pregnancy Act.

The chief minister has also directed to issue show-cause notice to the commission­ers of municipal corporatio­ns (MC) of Gurugram and Faridabad for delay in dealing with the complaints received at the CM window — grievance redressal and monitoring system where people can lodge complaints and track the progress, said additional principal secretary to chief minister, Dr Rakesh Gupta.

These decisions were taken while presiding over a review meeting with all deputy commission­ers (DCS), superinten­dents of police (SPS) and other didtrict-level senior officers through video conferenci­ng.

Dr Gupta said that in a case of misuse of government’s fund in Panipat, the DC was directed to investigat­e the case and register an FIR against the guilty. Similarly, in case of an alleged embezzleme­nt of Rs 20 crore in district Sonepat, the DC was directed to hold inquiry.

Meanwhile, Sirsa DC was directed to issue chargeshee­t within one week in case of irregulari­ties committed by a junior engineer and a clerk.

Reviewing the PC-PNDT and MTP Acts, Dr Gupta said 27 raids were conducted in Sirsa.

The government, Dr Gupta said, has cautioned Dr Krishnan Kumar of Rewari for not working as per the provisions of the Act and informing wrong facts. “We have cautioned Dr Kumar that he should mend his ways, failing which action would be initiated against him,” he said.

The government has directed the officials of health department posted in Panchkula, Jind, Palwal, Panipat, Rohtak, Mahendraga­rh, Jhajjar and Fatehabad districts to conduct regular raids in their districts under PC-PNDT and MTP Acts and play significan­t role towards making‘beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ a success.
