Grocery supplier robbed of ₹58k, mobile phone
TARN TARAN: Sarhali police of the district booked four unidentified men for allegedly looting ₹58,000 cash, a scooter and a mobile phone from a 43-year-old man near Shakri turn in Sarhali town, 25 km from the district headquarters, on Thursday. The victim Harish Kumar of Patti city works as a grocery supplier.
After getting information of the incident, station house officer (SHO) of Sarhali police station with a police team reached the spot and started investigation.the team also patrolled the area where the incident took place but to no avail.
In his complaint to the police, Kumar said, “After collecting cash from several grocery shops of different villages, I was on my way back from Sarhali to Patti on my Honda Activa scooter (PB-467768).”
ONE OF THE ACCUSED THRASHED THE VICTIM
At around 10.30 pm on Wednesday, when the victim reached near Shakri turn, four masked bike-borne men waylaid him, the victim told the police. One of the accused, who had an iron rod thrashed Kumar, said police.
After snatching his mobile phone and scooter, the accused left the spot.
“They took the money that I had collected and few bank documents kept in the scooter,” he said.
Investigation officer, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Parkash Singh of Sarhali police station said, “A case under Sections 379 B (snatching by force) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the unidentified robbers. Efforts are being made to ascertain their identity.the accused will be arrested soon.”
