MAN BOOKED FOR RAPING 10YEAROLD DAUGHTER

HISAR: Yet another case of rape came to light in Haryana on Friday, after a man was booked for allegedly raping his 10-year-old daughter in Hisar town.

Police registered a case under Section 376(1) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the accused.

No arrest has been made so far, police spokespers­on Harish Bhardwaj said.

According to the FIR, a woman of Hisar town lodged a complaint with the police against the accused after the victim’s sister, who works at the complainan­t house as a domestic help, told her that she saw his father committing the crime.

“We have registered a case soon after getting the complaint about the matter and started investigat­ions into the case. The accused has not been arrested yet,” Bhardwaj said.

Police said the former wife of victim’s husband was irked over his second marriage and the crime was committed at her behest to teach him a lesson. The couple was divorced in December last year.

After the incident, the victim couple reportedly met health minister Anil Vij, who had directed for prompt action following which raids were conducted to nab the accused.
