BJP should rule panchayat to parliament in next 50 years, Shah tells party workers
Party chief asks them to forget complaints, ensure victory in the assembly polls this year and 2019 LS polls
DHANKYA (JAIPUR) : Exhorting party workers to forget complaints and ensure thumping victory in the assembly elections later this year and Lok Sabha elections in 2019, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Wednesday said the party should rule from panchayat to Parliament in the next 50 years.
Addressing a meeting of Shakti Kendra incharges from Jaipur division, Shah credited the BJP’S success to the party workers.
“From 10 members, the party has grown to 11 crore members, becoming the world’s largest party. We have 1,800 MLAS, governments in 19 states, 330 MPS and a full majority government at the Centre serving the people. The BJP’S saffron flag is hoisted on 70% of the country. This success is due to our workers,” Shah said.
He said five generations of BJP workers and leaders have worked for the success of the party. “People gave their entire lifetime for the party and have brought it to this glorious stage. It is our duty to ensure that we win 2018 and 2019 elections in such a manner that for five generations and 50 years, the BJP rules from panchayat to parliament,” Shah said to loud applause and cheers from the party workers.
Shah said the route to victory lies with the booths. “Congress can try with all its might but when BJP booth workers enter the electoral battlefield with resolve, no one can defeat us,” he said.
Asking party workers to forget their complaints till the general elections are over in 2019, Shah said: “Booth workers could have resentment and complaints but you will have to put all these in a box and lock it and sit patiently till the counting (of votes). You might be angry with MLAS, ministers or MPS but do you have any anger against Bharat Mata?”

Blaming the Congress of imitating the BJP, chief minister Vasundhara Raje referred to the alleged infighting in the grand old party and said: “The Congress organised a so-called Booth Mera Both Mera Gaurav programme but everyone knows what happened.” The Sankalp rallies of the Congress too were an attempt to bring crowds and try to show that the organisation is strong, she said.
Alleging the Congress never became active before elections, the CM said: “For 40 years, we haven’t heard their voices but during elections, they come out of their burrows and try to mislead people.” She said the Congress can never match the BJP’S organisational strength and asked them to fight the election as their own to ensure the BJP returns to power and the good work done by her government be carried on.
State Congress spokesperson Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said BJP chief Amit Shah was talking about party workers as he has no faith on chief minister Vasundhara Raje and her ministers.
“Amit Shah had expressed unhappiness over leaders failing to gather crowd in party rallies. He is not mentioning the government’s achievements or success. Congress will come to power with a huge mandate and knowing that he is making last ditch efforts by visiting the state again and again,” he said.
