Integrated security system to secure borders: Rajnath

AMBALA: Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said the integrated border security system is being implemente­d to secure the country’s borders, on the pattern of Israel.

Speaking at a ‘Vikas Rally’ organised by state Labour and employment minister Nayab Singh at Shazadpur in the district, he said it would not be possible to secure the 22,000-km long land and sea coast border with wire-fencing, so the government has decided to adopt technology­based security system.

Hitting out at the opposition, Union home minister said it was making a an impractica­l demand to make public the details of the Rafale deal to mislead the people of the country

“Due to security concerns, the details related to this defemce deal cannot be made public. This has been the precedent during the previous government­s also,” he added.

Rajnath said the NDA government has strongly checked the naxal movement, which had become a challenge for the country. “Our security forces have controlled them creditably.”

He said opposition leaders have been making efforts to come to power by telling lies and misleading the people whereas the NDA government has focused on uplifting the poor and developing the country.

Lauding the Haryana government for several running welfare scheme, he said the state was proud of its “kisans and jawans”. Minister Saini and Ambala MP Rattan Lal Kataria also spoke on the occasion.
