KHATTAR DEDICATES AWARD TO PEOPLE OF HARYANA
KARNAL: Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday dedicated the number-1 state award bagged by Haryana in the field of sanitation and cleanliness under Swachh Survekshan Grameen-2018 to the people of the state.
The CM, who conducted a ‘Jansampark Padyatra’ in the villages of his Karnal constituency on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, said people have contributed to the ‘Swachh Haryana-swachh Bharat’ campaign, which helped the state bag this prestigious award. In terms of sanitation, he said, Haryana’s performance was rated at 32% in 2014, which has now reached 95% now.
Khattar, who earlier paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi in Karnal, said that maintaining cleanliness was the real tribute to the father of the nation.
During his visit to the villages of Kachwa, Kalampura, Pundrak and Ratangarh villages of his constituency, the chief minister said the state government has no dearth of funds for development works.
He said more than 4,000 police personnel have been recruited by his government in a transparent manner and 7,000 more would be recruited in the next two months.

As per the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) website,
the Union ministry of drinking water and sanitation has commissioned this survey to develop ranking of all districts of India on the basis of quantitative and qualitative sanitation (Swachhata) parameters.
