Khattar counts his government’s achievemen­ts before PM Modi

GARHI-SAMPLA (ROHTAK): Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday tried to present his report card before Prime Minister Narendra Modi, counting the achievemen­ts of his government in the state.

Khattar, who heads the first BJP government in the state which is soon going to complete four years in office, was speaking at a rally where the PM unveiled the statue of farmer leader Sir Chhotu Ram.

He said the BJP government in Haryana is providing government jobs on the basis of merit and several other steps are being taken for welfare of youths.

He said the state government has also brought reforms in revenue records and efforts are being made to ensure registrati­on of land falling within the limits of ‘Lal Dora’.

“We have worked a lot for all sections and we want to continue our work under your leadership. And I promise you to take Haryana to the new heights,” he added.

Khattar also appealed to the prime minister to visit the state again to inaugurate of 180-km Kundi-manesar- Palwal Expressway.

The CM not only hailed Chhotu Ram for several agricultur­al reforms he had taken, but also praised Modi for bringing a slew welfare schemes for farmers.

HISTORY DIDN’T DO JUSTICE WITH CHHOTU RAM: BIRENDER

In his brief speech, Union steel minister Birender Singh alleged that the history of the country did not did not do justice with the four big leaders of the country — Sir Chhotu Ram (Birender’s maternal grandfathe­r), Sardar Patel, Subhash Chander Bose and Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

“These four leaders were not given identity in the history of India, but the present government is making efforts to make people aware about their contributi­on to the country,” he said while describing Modi as a big leader at the global level.

“Our prime minister has given a boost to the farming community and promised to double the income of farmers by 2022,” he said while adding that the increase in the income of farmers will give a boost to the economy of the country.

He said the constructi­on of the Lakhwar dam would provide enough water for Haryana.

Earlier while wlecoming Modi, Birender presented a saffron turban to the PM, which he sported during the function. Union minister and BJP’S Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjit Singh was among others presents on the occasion.
