SUBINSPECTOR MIR WAS ABDUCTED AND KILLED BY SUSPECTED MILITANTS IN PULWAMA DISTRICT ON SUNDAY

SRINAGAR : “You killed someone who loved his Kashmir…come an kill us all,” read a heart-rending letter which was uploaded on the Facebook profile of Jammu and Kashmir Police’s sub-inspector Imtiyaz Ahmed Mir, who was killed by suspected militants on Sunday.

The open letter, written by someone close to Mir, addresses the “murderers” of the police officer who was working with Kashmir’s police premier intelligence gathering wing-cid.

“Do u know wen u killed Imtiaz you killed a loving son of an aged mother…a obedient son of an old father…their only hope of oldage...u killed a brother who was the only support of his brother and sister…u killed every dream of a young girl whom he wanted to marry (sic),” the letter reads.

The letter talks about ‘god fearing’ qualities of Mir and condemns the attackers for killing this ‘deeply religious man’.

“U killed a man who had suffistic thoughts... Someone who read suifisim vastly... Who read Karal Marx and every other field of thought..(sic),” it states.

Mir, a 2010 batch of sub-inspectors, was abducted and then shot dead by suspected militants in Pulwama district when he was returning home in his car on Sunday afternoon.

Police officials said Mir was killed while he was on way to meet his parents in Pulwama, his home town.

“...We all just wanna ask his killers y did they not kill us all…plz come and kill us all... We can’t live without him...,” the letter adds.

The Facebook profile has attracted a lot of prayers and condemnations over the killing. “Mir Imtiaz’s murder is another instance of barbarity. How does killing a Kashmiri serve their ‘cause’? Someday they will have to answer before the court of people! Condemnation is just a word to express our heart out. How long we will condemn the deaths of our loved ones in Kashmir. Prayers for his eternal peace and May Allah give his family strength in this time of grief. #RIP (sic),” a Facebook user wrote.
