BSF constable held for passing info to Pakistan
FEROZEPUR: A constable of the Border Security Force (BSF), Sheikh Riajudin alias Riaz, of Renuka Mata Mandi, Renapur district, Latur, (Maharashtra) was arrested for passing on secret and sensitive information to Pakistan, on Saturday evening. Raj Kumar (deputy commandant) of the 28 Battalion of the BSF had complained about Riaz, who worked as an operator.
According to Kumar, Riaz was passing on Mamdot’s secrets and other classified information to Pakistan. He was also sending across photos of roads and contact numbers of officers using his phone numbers 96737-74288 and 75280-62678 to a Pakistani intelligence operative, Mirja Faizal.
Riaz’s search led to the recovery of two mobiles and seven SIMS. He has been booked under Sections 3/4 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and the National Security Act, 1980. BARNALA: The police have seized around two truckloads of firecrackers stored in three godowns, on Sunday. The crackers were stored in residential area without a licence.
Sub-divisional magistrate, Sandeep Kumar said, “Three shopkeepers had stocked firecrackers. We got specific inputs about them through an email and raided those places.”
DSP Rajesh Kumar said, “We have registered an FIR under section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of IPC against three shopkeepers.”
