Khattar: Works on investment of ₹80,000 crore on
CHANDIGARH:HARYANA chief minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday claimed that works and clearances on investment worth ₹80,000 crore was on in the state as a result of the investors’ summit held at Gurugram in 2016.
Interacting with the members of national council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here, Khattar held that since industries which had signed memoranda of understanding (MOU) at the said summit were at different levels of execution, an investment worth ₹80,000 crore was on the ground in Haryana.
“These industries have the potential of generating over 1 lakh jobs,” he added.
Highlighting the infrastructural import of the recently-completed KMP expressway, which was otherwise scheduled to be completed in 2009, he said that the state government also planned to set up five cities along it that would give a major fillip to the business and trade in the state.
“Besides, we have plans to develop the airport at Hisar which would open up multiple business avenues for the investors,” he said and added that the state government would also bring separate policies to give a push to logistic, pharmaceutical and retail sectors.
Earlier, the CII president Rakesh Bharti Mittal raised queries pertaining to infrastructural inadequacies and water management and discharge in Gurugram as well as stubble burning in Haryana.
Khattar, however, held that the said inadequacies were because of defective planning during the previous governments, though his government was taking multipronged steps to address the same.
“Besides KMP expressway, we are making efforts for more connectivity with Gurugram, such as Dwarka Expressway and more connectivity through Metro to decongest Gurugram traffic.
