GURUGRAM: Two murder suspects were found dead with bullet injuries, inside a locked house in Manesar village on Friday morning, said police.

Police said that they are probing if the duo shot at each other or whether one of them shot the other and then killed himself. Police found two countrymade pistols near the bodies and, with the room found locked from the inside, and ruled out the possibility of a third person being involved in the case.

The deceased, whom the police identified only by their first names as Vikas and Subhash, were on the run after killing a man in Narnaul in October.

The room in which they were found dead was rented to a man named Vikrant, who claimed that he knew the duo through a common friend. They had allegedly told him that they were in Manesar in search of work, said police.

Around 8am on Friday, Vikrant, who was returning from work, found the room locked from the inside and, through a window, saw the two men lying on the floor. Police, when informed, arrived and broke open the door.

“Vikas had a bullet lodged in his abdomen, while Subhash had a bullet injury to the right side of his head,” said Rajesh Kumar, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) (Manesar). Police said they appeared to have been in their early twenties.

“One ‘katta’ (countrymade pistol) was lying near Vikas’s feet and the other lay in between the bodies,” said Prahlad Singh, assistant sub-inspector, who was one of the first to reach the room.
