They said Sandeep Goel, a social worker, would be contesting from Yamunanagar on BSP’S symbol; Priyanka Kashyap, Sanchit Nandal and Amit Saini would be the alliance candidates from Panipat, Rohtak and Hisar, respectively.
From Karnal, Asha Vinod Wadhwa would be supported by the alliance, while the remaining would contest on party symbols.
The poll results would be declared on December 19. It is for the first time in the state that the voters would directly elect their mayor.
CODE OF CONDUCT VIOLATED: INLD
Meanwhile, the INLD has lodged a complaint with the state election commissioner regarding violation of the model code of conduct against the BJP government. A party release said the BJP had tried to influence voters in its favor by misusing the state machinery. The INLD said the government announced a scheme for the ‘Khaki Card Holders’ granting a subsidy worth Rs 1600 per LPG connection to influence the voters.
