SAY THEY HAVE BEEN WAITING TO MEET KEJRIWAL; AAP CALLS THEM BJP WORKERS TRYING TO SABOTAGE THE RALLY

ROHTAK : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday faced protests from some terminated employees of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) during his School-hospital rally in Sonepat’s Sector 15.

Kejriwal had launched the School-hospital rally as part of AAP’S campaign for 2019 Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha polls in Haryana. The party wants to expand its reach to Haryana by publicising the work it has done in government schools and hospitals in Delhi.

Kejriwal was giving his speech when some people sitting in the crowd started raising slogans against him while showing banners and placards against the Delhi government.

The protesters were soon roughed up by AAP workers and dragged out of the venue from where they were detained by the police. During a brief media interaction, the protesters claimed they were terminated employees of the DTC who have been wanting to meet CM Kejriwal.

AAP Haryana convener Naveen Jaihind termed these protesters as BJP workers who were trying to sabotage Kejriwal’s programme in Haryana. Earlier, too, Kejriwal has faced protests during his events in Haryana. In 2017, a man threw a shoe at Kejriwal during his rally in Rohtak. Meanwhile Kejriwal attacked Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar over the “casteist remarks” that he had allegedly made in Karnal during campaigning of the civic body polls. Kejriwal also distributed ₹1 crore cheques to the families of two slain Delhi cops who belonged to Sonepat. The police detained the protesters but said they have not yet received any formal complaint against them.
