REVOKE RAJIV GANDHI’S BHARAT RATNA: LONGOWAL

CHAMKAURSA­HIB: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Gobind Singh Longowal and Anandpur Sahib member of parliament Prem Singh Chandumajr­a demanded revoking Rajiv Gandhi’s Bharat Ratna.

Talking to the media at Chamkaur Sahib on Saturday, Longowal said Rajiv Gandhi was responsibl­e for the massacre in Delhi and the Bharat Ratna awarded to him posthumous­ly should be withdrawn.

Longowal also flayed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi for making a “U-turn” regarding a resolution passed in the Delhi assembly.

Going a step further, Chandumajr­a said not only the Bharat Ratna awarded to the former PM should be revoked, but he should be booked for patronisin­g Congress leaders involved in the massacre of Sikhs. He said that the SAD would approach the Centre to withdraw Bharat Ratna awarded to Rajiv Gandhi.
