25-year-old found hanging from ceiling fan, no note found

GURUGRAM: A 25-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his house on Tuesday morning. Police said no suicide note was recovered from the spot.

According to the police, the incident was reported to them around 8.30am by the man’s parents, who had gone to wake him up. Sector 5 assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Swaran Lal said the man worked with a software firm in Udyog Vihar, where he had an administra­tive role. The victim is survived by his wife and a twoyear-old daughter.

“The man’s parents discovered the body when they went to his room. They were supposed to go to a hospital, where the man’s paternal uncle, who had suffered a heart attack on Monday, was undergoing treatment. The victim had returned home on Monday night after spending the day at the hospital. He took a shower and retired for the night,” ASI Lal said, adding that his wife and daughter were sleeping in the adjacent room.

According to the family of the deceased, the man was under stress due to personal reasons.

Sector 5 station house officer Sumit Kumar said the victim consumed alcohol after getting home and possibly hanged himself some time during the night.

“The police have initiated inquest proceeding­s under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC) and the body would be handed over to the family after post-mortem examinatio­n,” the SHO said.

On December 10, a 30-year-old taxi driver had allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in Rajendra Park.
