Old vehicle ban: Additional chief secy seeks clarification on order
Earlier the instructions for the ban were issued for Gurgaon, Faridabad and Bahadurgarh but now the area of NCR has increased up to Karnal and there is a need for clarification on whether these instructions are applicable to the entire NCR.

KARNAL : Additional chief secretary (ACS) to Haryana transport department Dhanpat Singh on Tuesday said they have sought clarification from the Union ministry of road, transport and highways over the Supreme Court orders to ban old diesel and petrol vehicles in the National Capital Region.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Dhanpat Singh, who was here to attend a programme of Haryana transport department said, “Earlier the instructions for the ban were issued for Gurgaon, Faridabad and Bahadurgarh but now the area of NCR has increased up to Karnal and there is a need for clarification on whether these instructions are applicable to the entire NCR.” He said that as per the court order, there is a ban on the entire NCR but the clarification from the ministry concerned was awaited.
The ACS also expressed concerns over the increasing incidents of road accidents and said that there was a need to sensitise people about the traffic rules. “Though the number of deaths in road accidents is coming down, there is need to do more and people should be made aware by organising awareness camps,” he added.
