BJP for speeding up probe into chargesheet against Congress
SHIMLA : Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday urged the government to speed up investigations into the charge sheet submitted by the party against Congress government two years ago.
“Government is investigating the charge sheet we submitted against Congress regime. We request them to speed up the same,” BJP’S chief spokesperson Randhir Sharma said during a press conference here.
He further lashed out at the opposition for attacking the state government over petty issues.
“Congress has also come out with a frivolous charge sheet against the BJP. Its main objective is to mislead people,” he said, adding that the development work carried by the BJP government has made the Congress jittery. He claimed that central government has given a assistance of ₹17000 crore to the state under various schemes and projects.
He further added, “Congress was crying hoarse over law and order situation. It has forgotten the infamous rape and murder of school girl in the state. We are taking strict against criminals,” he said, adding that the previou government protected criminals. He said the government has also passed a bill for making provision against NDPS Act more strict.
VAJPAYEE’S STATUE TO COME UP ON RIDGE SOON
Meanwhile, former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s statue will soon be installed at the Ridge in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla,cm Jai Ram Thakur said Tuesday. Inaugurating Atal Sadan constructed at an estimated cost of ₹20 crore in Kullu on Vajpayee’s 94 birth anniversary, Thakur said the Rohtang tunnel would also be named after the former prime minister as it was his brainchild.
