AMBALA : A woman cop and her husband were booked for allegedly threatenin­g the deputy district attorney in his office on Wednesday.

The accused has been identified as sub-inspector (SI) Sunita, who is posted in the office of SP (railways), Ambala Cantonment, and her husband Rajbir. The deputy district attorney Parvez Khokhar said that on December 26 around 10am when he was sitting in his office, Sunita’s husband entered the office and started threatenin­g him.

“He asked me why I compelled his wife to attend the high court on December 19 and stated that it had spoiled their pre-planned tour of Vaishno Devi temple,” said Khokhar.

He added that Rajbir had also threatened him of dire consequenc­es and made casteist remarks against him.

Based on his complaint, the police have booked the SI and her husband under Section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtheranc­e of common intention), 186 (obstructin­g public servant in discharge of public function), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 506 (criminal intimidati­on) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 3 of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
