Modi a master of deceit: Amarinder

- HT Correspondent

CHANDIGARH:PUNJAB chief minister Amarinder Singh on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a master of deceit and disinformation, challenging him to show even a single promise that his government has fulfilled in the last five years during which the country plunged into a crisis due to his anti-people and divisive policies.

Terming Modi’s speech at Gurdaspur rally on Thursday a brazen lie, Amarinder said in a press statement that the ‘jumlebaaz’ PM has taken the nation to its nadir with his deceptions and he must answer on the 2002 riots in Gujarat riots first.

“He has stooped so low in a desperate bid to mislead the people sensing an imminent defeat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

He has lied on every issue, be it the 1984 riots, the Kartarpur corridor or farm debt waiver,” the hief minister said.

He questioned Modi’s studious

silence on the BJP/RSS workers named in the Tilak Marg police station FIR in the 1984 anti-sikh riots, while trying desperately to drag the Gandhi family into the matter even though no fingers had been pointed at them.

“What about the 2002 riots in Gujarat which happened right under your nose and in which your own party members were squarely blamed and named?” Amarinder asked Modi.

He also lambasted the Prime Minister for trying to take credit for the Kartarpur corridor, which the Congress had been actively pursuing since the tenure of former PM Indira Gandhi.

“I myself have been taking up the issue with Pakistan for years. You have not even given a single paisa so far for the celebration of the 550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak despite our repeated requests and yet claim to be the guardian of the Sikhs,” the CM said.
