Abhay power hungry, not expelling MLAS siding with JJP: Ajay

ROHTAK : Expelled Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader and now the patron of the newly floated Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) Ajay Chautala on Monday called his younger brother Abhay Chautala power hungry for not expelling those MLAS from INLD who were now supporting the JJP.

Ajay, who is out on parole from Delhi’s Tihar Jail, was in Charkhi Dadri on Monday where former state education minister Bahadur Singh joined his party in his presence.

“When he (Abhay) could expel the general secretary (Ajay) of the party without giving any notice, why has he not yet taken action against those MLAS who are openly siding with the JJP? He is hungry for power and knows his leader of opposition chair will be snatched if he does that,” said Ajay.

He said three serving MLAS were supporting the JJP and now a former minister joining the party will further strengthen it.

Ajay said the party will announce its candidate for the Jind by-election by Tuesday when a meeting of the core committee has been called. Taking a dig at the INLD, Ajay said those who used to call Jind their stronghold were now finding it hard to find a candidate for the bypoll.

“Jind by-elections will serve as a semi-final for the state elections where our party will defeat everyone to make way for finals. We don’t need any alliance because we have the support of the people. Our Jind rally made new records and we are sure of forming the government in the state this year,” he said.
