SUCCESSFUL, NOT ACCIDENTAL PM

If there was one successful Prime Minister of India, it was Dr Manmohan Singh. He had the qualification and experience of a great leader. The political controversy over the Anupam Kherstarrer ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ caught media attention only after the Bharatiya Janata Party shared the movie’s trailer, calling it ‘a riveting tale of how a family held the country to ransom for 10 years’. It drew a lot of criticism from the Congress which alleged that the biopic portrayed the former PM in a poor light.

SC Dhall, Mohali (ISCA) is an independent body. Moreover, the VC’S views may not be as bizarre as his decision of choosing a public forum to air them. It is indeed incredible for a single woman to give birth to 100 sons, and one daughter (Dushala), naturally. But a gathering of scientists is not the place to share these views. He should instead have talked about research being undertaken in various fields and their utility to the people.
