2 women killed, 11 injured in 3 separate road accidents in HP

SHIMLA : An 18-year-old woman was killed and as many as were nine injured in three separate road accidents in Shimla and Chamba districts on Tuesday.

The first incident took place near Moslan Village in Nerwa of Shimla district when an 18-yearold was killed and four other of the family injured after the car they were travelling in fell into a gorge. The family was on their way to Kupvi from Nerwa when the mishap took place, Shimla DSP Pramod Shukla said.

The woman was identified as Tamnna, a resident of Dharchhari village. The injured were identified as Gopal Singh (driver), 46, his wife Kaushalya, 42, and their daughters Samriti, 15, and Takshu, 13

“The girl died on the spot while the injured were rushed to a civil hospital in Nerwa from where two were referred to Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla and are undergoing treatment,” the DSP said. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against driver under Section 279, 337 and 304 A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

In another mishap, five people sustained injuries after their car fell into a 600-metre deep gorge near Jandrah in Tisa of Chamba district. The vehicle was on its way to Haryana from Dalhousie when the accident occurred. Three among the five injured were referred to a hospital in Punjab’s Pathankot while the other two are undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Kakira in Chamba. Meanwhile, one women died and two sustained injuries after their car fell into deep gorge in Mohal Patiud near Shimla. The injured were referred to IGMC, Shimla.
