- HT Correspondent

PATHANKOT: Two bikers were killed on the spot and one other riding on a scooter was injured when all three came in the line of two fighting bulls on the Pathankot-sujanpur link road on Monday.

The bulls fighting in the middle of the busy Pathankot-sujanpur link road could not be seen due to darkness on the road, police said, adding, perhaps that became the reason behind the accident.

The deceased were identified as Gulshan, 24, of Mudde village near Pathankot and Sahil, 25, of Sujanpur in Pathankot.

The injured, identified as Krishan Radhe of Sujanpur, is being treated at one of the private hospitals in the district.

Police said both Gulshan and Sahil were going towards Pathankot from Sujanpur on their bike. The injured was going towards Sujanpur, when the mishap took place.

A case under Section 174 of the CRPC has been registered.

Narinder Kala, a councillor of the district civic body, said cow cess and other taxes are being charged from the locals, but the stray animals remain a threat to the common people.

He said though the corporation claims to have bundled many stray bulls in the cattle pond at Dairywal village, scores of bulls and cows still roamed free, raising questions over the claims (of the corporation).

Authorities should compensate each victim’s family with ₹25 lakh, the councillor said.
