Gangster’s properties to be auctioned

GURUGRAM:TWO properties worth ₹4 crore of alleged criminal Sube Singh, a close aide of gangster Kaushal, have been attached would be auctioned on February 25, the police said on Wednesday.

The properties were attached by subdivisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) of Pataudi in January and has now passed an order to auction the properties, said Rajesh Kumar, deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Manesar.

“It is the first time that a criminal’s properties would be auctioned after being attached since the Gurugram commissionerate was formed in 2007. It is a rare feat for the police,” Kumar said. The court gave the order after the Gurugram Police approached the court.

While one of the properties is a commercial property in Manesar worth ₹1 crore, the second is a one-acre field worth at least ₹3 crore, the DCP said. The court has asked the tehsildar of Manesar to carry out the auction and has also asked SHO of Manesar police station to oversee the process.

Sube, who is on the run, has around 12 FIRS against him in Gurugram, including cases of murder and extortion. He is a close aide of the city’s most wanted gangster, Kaushal, according to the police.

He is allegedly responsible for the murder of a sarpanch of a village in 2018 and there is a reward of ₹2 lakh for information leading to his arrest.
