He added, “The CM has met us only once even after giving assurances more than 10 times in the past. On Sunday, we lifted the protest only after early meeting with education minister was assured to us. This will now decide the future course of the protest.”

Vikram Dev, another co-convener of the Sanjha Adhiyapak Morcha, claimed, “Even now, the government is lingering over the issue so that the Lok Sabha election code of conduct could come into force and it can be used as an excuse to stall our demands.”

The Adhiyapak Sangharsh Committee has announced that it will burn the state government’s effigies across the state on Tuesday in protest against Sunday’s lathi-charge.

“I have called teachers for a meeting in which all the issues will be discussed. They have a long list of demands, some of which we have already fulfilled. Other legitimate demands will also be met. I will make them satisfied,” said minister Soni.

On Monday, 50 teachers including 10 union leaders of Adhyapak Sangarsh Committee, were booked on Monday.

Those booked are state co-convener Sanjha Adhyapak Morcha Hardeep Toderpur, Davinder Punia, Sukhwinder Chahal, Harjeet Singh, Balkar Singh, Baaj Singh Khaira, Didar Singh Mudki, Amritpal Singh Sidhu., Sukhraj Singh and Harvinder Singh.
