Two arrested for threatenin­g Hry minister’s son

KARNAL : The Karnal police have arrested two people for allegedly circulatin­g a video and messages on the social media levelling allegation­s on Haryana minister of state Karan Kamboj’s son Vikas Kamboj for demanding money in lieu of work and also threatenin­g him on phone.

In his police complaint, Vikas alleged that accused Vijay Kumar of Kulwehri village had recorded his own video in which he was seen levelling false allegation­s on Vikas and his minister father.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Vikas said, “For the past few days, Vijay has been circulatin­g fake massages and videos on social media to defame me and my father. When I tried to talk to him and asked him to provide the evidence to prove his allegation­s, he threatened me of dire consequenc­es”

“Then I filed a police complaint against him,” he added.

Indri police station in-charge Sat Prakash said that after the complaint, the police have registered an FIR under Sections 67 A if the IT Act, and Sections 500, 501 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code against Vijay and Ankush of Kunjpura, who was also involved in circulatin­g the video and other message of social media. They were later arrested.

The accused were produced in a court, which sent them to the judicial custody. “Further investigat­ions are on,” the SHO said.
