More than 40 countries have extended support to India and have issued strong statements against Pakistan

GENERAL VK SINGH, Union minister

SHIMLA : Union minister of state for external affairs General VK Singh on Monday said Pakistan has been isolated internationally after the Pulwama terror attack, in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed.

“More than 40 countries have extended support to India and issued strong statements against Pakistan,” Singh told reporters here.

“This is a big success of our external and diplomatic policy,” Singh said, adding that the number of countries supporting India’s stand is higher than the number of countries which had supported India after 26/11 attack in Mumbai.

He said that India has further stepped up efforts to expose Pakistan. “Many things are being done on the diplomatic front to bring the Pakistan-sponsored proxy war in the knowledge of the international community,” Singh added.

Replying to a query on volatile situation in Kashmir due to separatist activities, Singh said some people were trying to mislead youths in the valley.

He said the situation in Kashmir from 2005 to 2012 was peaceful and stressed that it should be analysed why terror activities increased in the valley after a lull of several years.

Maintaining that there will be definitely an action, Singh said India will decide time and place to retaliate.

“Such actions must be planned and cannot be carried out in a hurry,” he said.

“Even Osama Bin Laden was not killed in a day despite the fact that USA had known he was hidden in Pakistan. Let us wait and watch and support our forces,” he added.

On the issue of safety of Kashmiri people living in others states, the minister said the Union home ministry has issued advisory regarding their security. “Aggression and reaction against them could be damaging for the country,” he said.

Earlier, he launched BJP’S ‘Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat, Modi Ke Saath’ campaign in Himachal Pradesh, as part of which the public’s expectation in all 68 state assembly constituencies would be noted by the party.
