Sikh hardliners behind attack on Sena man: NIA
MOHALI:THE attack on Shiv Sena leader Amit Arora in Ludhiana in February 2016 was part of a transnational conspiracy hatched by the senior leadership of Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF).
This has been stated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the chargesheet filed against the eight murder bid accused before the NIA special court in Mohali on Friday.
On February 3, 2016, Arora was sitting in his car in the Basti Jodhewal area on the GT Road in Ludhiana when two bike-borne men allegedly opened fire at him. Arora had claimed that a bullet had grazed past his neck.
Initially, the Ludhiana police had booked Arora for staging the attack on himself, but later they claimed it was part of targeted killings of Hindu leaders in Punjab at the behest of Pakistan’s Inter-services Intelligence (ISI).
The challan has been filed against Hardeep Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Dharminder Singh, Anil Kumar, Jagtar Singh Johal, Harmeet Singh, and Gurjinder Singh and Gursharanbir Singh.
