KUDOS TO INDIAN AIR FORCE

-

Surprising the Pakistani regime, India has given a befitting reply by pounding the terror camps in POK and our air force deserves kudos for this successful mission. The anti-terror operations in the Valley and this cross-border air strike will make the neighbouring country think umpteenth time before giving refuge to terrorists. Also, it should be our endeavour to instill confidence in the minds of Kashmiris through some positive measures, so that there is no further alienation.

MS Ishar, Mohali succumbed to liquor laced with some toxic substance, suspected to be methanol, in West Bengal. Most of the dead are tea estate workers in Golaghat and Jorhat. The excise minister said the tragedy occurred in spite of clear instructions to district officials to be extra vigilant. They should be held accountable for negligence. It is unfortunate that the authorities wake up to such crises, only after the harm has been done. The tragedies recur, precious lives are lost, but seldom are the culprits punished.

Usha Verma, Chandigarh including those in the private sector. There must be freedom and right to play as a participant, if not the compulsion to be part of the rat race. Existing infrastructure for sports in private sector can be better utilised with the cooperation and support of the government and the Sports Authority of India.

MM Goel, Kurukshetra consumers. The pendency of the cases is increasing even though, fresh cases are decreasing. This perhaps is the only instance of this kind in the entire country. The forum is mostly occupied with cases relating to housing, which should ideally go to Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). The central government has to clearly bifurcate responsibilities between the two agencies for better results. Rajiv Boolchand Jain,

Zirakpur (COA) appointed by the Supreme Court is dilly dallying in taking a final call on not to play against Pakistan in the forthcoming ICC World Cup in England this summer? The first priority of the COA and the government should be to draw a consensus among the participating nations to not play Pakistan in the tournament. If at all, that doesn’t happen, then Indian team should forfeit its match against Pakistan even if it loses two points or for that matter, eventually the World Cup title.
