JAMMU : Three video clips, purportedly of Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan, which have gone viral on social sites, amply reflect the ordeal of the officer at the hands of Pakistanis.

However, another video, telecast on Pakistan’s Geo TV Urdu channel, shows him having tea and talking about the “good treatment” being meted out to him in the neighbouring country.

HT, however, cannot vouch for the veracity of the videos.

Wing Commander Abhinandan’s MIG 21 crashed on Wednesday morning while chasing away Pakistani fighter jets, which had intruded into Nowshera sector. The pilot was captured by Pakistani troops from a rivulet.

The first video of 24 seconds shows the IAF officer lying in a shallow rivulet, where some Pakistanis are seen beating him up in the presence of gun-wielding armymen.

The second clip, of one minute and 57 seconds, shows blood oozing out from the face of the officer and he is surrounded by a frenzied mob. It also shows the Indian pilot being taken to an army vehicle amid slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Allah-hu-akbar” by the mob. There are also voices in the video asking the mob not to beat him up.

In the third video of 49 seconds, the blindfolded and handcuffed officer is seen being questioned by a Pakistan army officer. The IAF officer is also seen asking for water.

“I got hurt and was arrested. Can I have a glass of water, Sir?” he is seen requesting the Pakistan officer, who is more interested in extracting information from Abhinandan.

“Yeah, my name is Wing Commander Abhinandan and my service number is 27981. I am a flying pilot and my religion is Hindu,” he says.

When the Pak army officer asks him, “what else”, Abhinandan responds politely, “I am sorry Sir. That’s all I am supposed to tell you. I am sorry Sir, I am not
