Congress complains against HP speaker’s participation in BJP committee meetings
SHIMLA : Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) chief Kuldeep Singh Rathore has filed a written complaint with the Election Commission of India alleging poll code violation by Vidhan Sabha speaker Rajeev Bindal.
Rathore has alleged that on March 13, speaker Bindal participated in the BJP core committee, thus involving himself into political activities which is undemocratic and violation of the constitutional norms as post of speaker is above any political party.
“We demand Election Commission to initiate necessary action against him with immediate effect,” Rathore wrote.
He also alleged that Congress party has received complaints that some revenue officials, civil supply depots and panchayats secretaries were still distributing gas connections under Ujjwala scheme, packed ration with photos of chief minister and Prime Minister. He alleged that ₹2,000 was also being deposited in the account of voters under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana even after enforcement of the model code of conduct.
“We demand strict action on part of election commission against these activities and erring officials,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Rathore has also raised objection to the BJP’S campaign “Mera Parivar-bjp Parivar” under which the saffron party was visiting the houses of beneficiaries of various centresponsored schemes. “This is not only a violation of model code of conduct but also offends right of privacy of beneficiaries,” he said.
