Kidnapped from school, 13-year-old boy rescued in Amritsar

AMRITSAR: Few hours after being kidnapped by two unidentifi­ed bike-borne men, the 13-year-old child, Harsh Rajput, was recovered by the Amritsar police (rural) on Thursday.

The father of the child, Gulshan Rajput, 32, resident of village Jasterwal, here in the district, lodged a complaint at Bhindi Saidan police station.

In his complaint, Gulshan said, “My son was playing in his school playground on Thursday at around 2:15 pm when two unidentifi­ed bike-borne men abducted my son. Learning about the incident, I informed the police.”

Giving details, Parampal Singh, senior superinten­dent of police (SSP- Rural), said, “As soon as the police were informed about the incident, we installed nakas at specific areas of the village. feeling the heat, the suspects left the child near Satsang Hall and fled. The child was later recovered by the police team.”

He added, “The local police is investigat­ing the case from various angles. A complaint has been lodged against the unidentifi­ed men, under sections 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person),511(punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonme­nt for life or other imprisonme­nt), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtheranc­e of common intention) of the IPC.”
