HUMAN TRAFFICKING

-

In reference to the news, ‘Hunger, bandits, poisonous snakes: Indian deportees recount journey to Mexico’, after 311 Indians who were trying to illegally enter the US, were deported from Mexico, the Punjab and Haryana government have made no comments. It is the dream of most Punjabi youth to quit farming and settle abroad, resulting in shortage of man power in the state. If the government had created more employment opportunities for youth, they would not have to pay lakhs of rupees to agents. Indians borrow money and sell assets to pay a fortune to human traffickers to enter the US and Europe. The governments must do more to create job opportunities and control illegal immigrants.

Perminder Kaur, Patiala

owns Zee TV, all rules are being put in the storehouse, to give pecuniary benefits, at the cost of the Haryana State treasury. Chandra’s total debt is over Rs11,000 crores, and he is in queue to leave the country just like Mallya, Choksi, Nirav Modi, Deepak Talwar and the other economic fugitives. His endeavours to sell his solar power units for Rs1,300 crores may yield some results, as the Adani grop, PM Modi’s Gujarati fundraisers, have in-principal agreed to bailout Chandra. But what happens to the balance which is due to financial institutions? This big scam will unfold in BJP’S ‘new’ tenure, a la 3G/4G/ Jijaji in NDA-2 of Manmohan Singh.

Rajiv Boolchand Jain,

Zirakpur for a home in Chandigarh within their budget. It is impossible for a common employee of the city to shell out crores to fetch a 2-3 BHK home. CHB is a public sector undertaking. It should not devise policies with a commercial mindset like those of private builders. Such policies mark the welfare of public and so public interest must be given priority in such cases. In all, CHB should focus on providing affordable housing to citizens with minimal formalities and streamlined process.
