Three killed, one hurt in Fatehabad road accident

HISAR : Three youth were killed and one seriously injured after the motorcycle they were riding on was hit by an unidentifi­ed vehicle near Hamjapur village of Fatehabad district, police said on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Vikram Singh, 30, his brother-in-law Prahlad Kumar, 24, and Sachin Kumar, 20, while the injured is Vikas Kumar, brother of victim Vikram Singh.

The incident took place late Tuesday when the victims were returning home from Ratia town, where they ran a photostat shop.

“They were travelling back late night after finishing work and were riding on one motorcycle when they hit by an unknown vehicle, severely injuring them,” police said.

Some passerby saw the victims lying in a pool of blood on the road and called an ambulance.

They were rushed to a civil hospital in Fatehabad, where the doctor declared Vikram, Prahlad and Sachin brought dead.

The injured was referred to Hisar for specialise­d treatment, they said.

CASE REGISTERED

“We have taken custody of the bodies and sent them for postmortem at a general hospital in Fatehabad. A case under Section 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) has been registered against unknown person,” said police spokespers­on Bhim Singh, adding that investigat­ions have been taken up.
