Rewari firm booked for forging papers
THE DEPARTMENT HAD INVITED TENDERS FOR INSTALLATION OF
LED LIGHTS AND ROOFTOP SOLAR SYSTEMS
PANCHKULA: Police have booked a Rewari-based firm for allegedly forging documents for eligibility in tenders of the department of new and renewable energy, Haryana. A complaint in this regard was submitted by Mahesh Gupta, accounts officer for director general, new renewable energy department, HAREDA, Akshay Urja Bhawan in Sector 17, Panchkula, to the deputy commissioner’s of police.
The complaint mentioned that HAREDA invited tenders for rate contract for supply; installation commissioning Led-based SPV Homelight Systems and for grid connected rooftop solar power plants. Gupta told the police that the firm, Ojaskar Vidyut LLP, Jhajjar Chowk, Rewari, participated in the tenders and submitted forged turnover documents online to become eligible for the tenders. On the basis of documents submitted by the firm, the rate contracts were awarded in favour of the Ojaskar firm along with other firms. However, on a complaint from one Ramit Kumar of Sonepat, the department asked chartered accountant (CA) Sunil Kumar to certify the turnover documents submitted by Ojaskar Vidyut LLP.
The CA, in his letter to the department, stated that he do not know the firm or its partners and has never conducted any work with the firm. “I have never stamped or signed on any documents, including the cited documents (turnover certificate). The signature and stamp is not done by me and the documents are fake,” reads the letter.
Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Rakesh Kumar, the investigating official in the case, said that as per the complainant, the information sent by Trinix Impex Pvt Ltd, Greater Noida, (battery manufacturer) has also confirmed that they have not supplied even a single battery to any one for HAREDA project. “They have informed the department that the stamp was not of their company and even phone number does not belong to them. The signature was also not from any authorised signatory and letterhead used was forged,” said the ASI.
The batteries were to be used in the solar home system of Trinix Impex Limited. The ASI said a case has been registered under Sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record) of the Indian Penal Code at Panchkula’s Sector 14 police station.
