Four more tested for Covid-19, 91 under lens

CHANDIGARH/GURUGRAM: A day after a Paytm-gurugram employee tested positive for the novel Coronaviru­s (Covid-19), the district rapid response team collected samples of four more Paytm employees who were in close contact with the 26-year-old.

“Samples of four people who worked closely with the Paytm employee detected positive for Covid-19 have been sent to AIIMS-DELHI for testing. All four people reside in Gurugram,” said Dr Jaswant Singh Punia, chief medical officer.

The district administra­tion had received a list of 91 Paytm employees for surveillan­ce, of whom, 71 live in Gurugram, 18 in Delhi, and 1 each in Faridabad and Noida. Our team has contacted them and advised them to self-quarantine,” Punia said.

“We have deputed one team headed by a medical officer each on every 10 Paytm, Gurugram, employees and their family members of who are being monitored for any symptoms. So far, none of them has shown any symptoms,” Arora said.

GGM FIRMS OFFER WORK FROM HOME

City-based IT companies, exporters and real estate developers, who manage large business complexes and malls, have started taking precaution­ary measures to check the spread of Covid-19. A number of IT and (Ites) companies have also given their employees the option to work from home and take leave in case of any flu-like symptoms.

Large companies are making contingenc­y plans to ensure there is no disruption in operations . Some companies have also decided to do away with biometric attendance system for the time being.

PRACTICE OF BIOMETRIC ATTENDANCE SUSPENDED

Haryana skill developmen­t and industrial training directorat­e has suspended the practice of marking attendance in the offices through biometrics in the view of the coronaviru­s threat, said Dr Rakesh Gupta, director general.
